A Party in that Hair!

Kelly Woolfe

This past week, we reached another milestone in our house. A milestone that is always bittersweet as a mom. Moms, I'm sure you can relate to where I'm coming from. My sweet third born, my middlest little boy, turned 6. SIX! I don't know how it happened this quick, but it did, and because I can't slow down time like I'd like, I just have to embrace the fact that my littles are growing up too fast for my liking. I REALLY enjoy my kids and truly embrace the fact that I have been able to design a life where I get to be with them. This little guy, well, he's just something amazing. I knew from the time when he was just an itty bitty little thing that there is just SOMETHING about him that is so special. For starters, he was born like this!!! Check out the party going on in this hair!

There are so many things that I love about this little guy, but one of the greatest things about him is his complete and total joyfulness for living life. Isn't it funny how sometimes your kids can teach you more than you teach them? He's taught me to embrace each and everyday and to see the joy in the little things. He's taught me to never take for granted the sweet little things of life. Living through your child's eyes really is something amazing. He's taught me to embrace it all! How could a sweet little face like this NOT bring total joy!?

He's my kid that I describe to everyone as happy go lucky, easy going, go with the flow ---- and ALWAYS skipping! Whether its skipping to school, or skipping down the basketball court or soccer field -- during his games!!!

So, what did this little dude want to do to celebrate his big day? Well, a little bit of everything which turned out to be about a week long celebration (not too shabby, kid!).

First and foremost, it was LEGOLAND all the way! We spent the weekend celebrating and visiting LEGOLAND, museums, restaurants and seeing family. Then, the week continued with birthday treats at school, and then, one of the big moments he had been waiting for --- the hamburger cake and piñata! He had this piñata picked out months ago!

Bottom line, I am blessed with a pretty darn cool kid. It was so fun celebrating his big 6 and it was fun to reflect back on the cherished memories of the past 6 years and how our lives have changed since he entered it. He has made our lives infinitely better and I am a better person because he's in my life. I smile because he is my son and try to remember to be thankful for all that he is each day of my life! His little hands stole my heart...and his little feet ran away with it!
