I have found over and over again that the reason why so many are held back from starting, or who have started and aren't getting the results they want, is because of nutrition! And since nutrition is such a huge part of the equation when it comes to your health and fitness goals, its so important that we figure this out together. And I agree, if you don't know HOW to eat for results, it is confusing, challenging, and complicated. But, I truly believe, and know from experience, that keeping it simple is the way to go for amazing results!
As you know, the brand new program, The Masters Hammer and Chisel, debuted on December 1. My package arrived this past week, and as you can imagine, I tore that box open immediately with excitement. After seeing all of the amazing test group results, I cannot WAIT to really get going on this program. But first....nutrition! Why??? Because if we don't eat the right way, according to the goals we are looking to accomplish, then all of our hard work that we're putting in with the workouts won't get us the results we want. And I don't know about you, but I certainly don't want to put in all of that hard work during my workouts and not see the results I want because my nutrition is off.
So, that is just another reason why I love Hammer and Chisel ---- the nutrition plan is broken down in a super simple way, making it EASY to eat for your particular goals!
What is the meal plan like for Hammer and Chisel?
Creators and super trainers, Autumn Calabrese, creator of the 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, and the Color Coded Portion Controlled Container system, and Sagi Kalev, creator of Body Beast, teamed up to create a mastermind plan using the color coded portion control containers. Depending on your particular goals, whether you're looking to shred and lose weight, bulk up and build muscle, or maintain weight and just get ripped, there is a plan in place for you to do just that. The trick? Gotcha! No trick! All you have to do is follow the plan outlined in the nutrition guide.
My personal nutrition plan for Hammer and Chisel.
After sitting down and taking some time to go through the plan and equation to figure out which category I fall into based on my goals during this program, I was super happy to find out that I will be following Plan B. What does this mean? Well, basically, it means I get to eat more. :) Because I don't want to lose weight, just get stronger, more fit, and put on a little muscle, too, I was able to customize the meal plan to suit my goals! Eating a little more food won't be hard at all. I can totally dig that!
I have found that for most of my customers, getting started on their nutrition is the hardest, most confusing part. So, I mapped out my first week and wanted to share it so you can see just how simple it can be! I don't over complicate. I like simple and easy, so that's what I stick with. I have found that simple helps me be successful. And, I like leftovers and don't mind repeating meals, as you'll also see below. Below is my meal plan and workout schedule for week 1. You can check it out and see what I will be eating each day. And make sure you check out one of the recipes below. Its one of my favorites!
1 tsp olive oil
1 1/2 pounds lean ground turkey
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped (I'm not a garlic fan so use a sprinkle of garlic powder in place of this)
1 1/2 tsp cumin
1 Tbs. chili powder
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 (15 oz) cans black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
fresh cilantro for garnish, if wanted
Heat oil in large saucepan. Add turkey, onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until turkey is cooked through. Add spices and stir for one minute. Add beans and tomatoes (with liquid). Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, stir occasionally and let thicken for 15-20 minutes. Serve warm, sprinkled with cilantro.
Hammer and Chisel container count per 1 cup serving: 1/2 Green, 1 Red, 1/2 Yellow
